Fifteen Years On, Milan Honor Kaka for 2007 Ballon D’Or Win

Milan have congratulated Ricardo Kaka for his historic Ballon D’Or win, with December 2nd marking the 15th anniversary of his personal title in 2007. The Brazilian playmaker went on to woo spectators and fans with an outstanding season, going on to win the UEFA Champions League, along with the Super Cup and Club World Cup.

Kaka proved instrumental in the 2006/07 campaign – scoring 18 goals in 48 appearances for the Rossoneri enroute a bundle of both personal and team accolades. Perhaps, the Brazilian’s most memorable performance came in the Champions League against Manchester United in the semi-finals, as Milan proceeded to revert the hauntings of Istanbul in Athens against Liverpool.

The iconic trequartista scored 104 goals and registered 84 assists in 307 appearances for the Rossoneri. He is the last player from Milan and Serie A to pick up the Ballon D’Or.

In Serie A in particular, Kaka appeared 223 times for Milan. He lodged 77 goals and 63 assists in the league over the course of two stints sandwiched between a sub-par stay at Real Madrid.
