Juventus, Chiellini Vows to Do ‘Something Different’ Regarding Donnarumma

EURO 2020 Player of the Tournament Gianluigi Donnarumma left Milan on sour terms after spending virtually his whole playing career at San Siro. Juventus were also involved in the race to lure him away, as legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon finally parted ways to complete a full circle at boyhood club Parma.

As arguably the most talented Italian goalkeeper of the current generation, Donnarumma was the perfect successor between the posts at Turin but succumbed to the financial charm of Paris Saint-Germain.

Now, Bianconeri’s iconic centre-back Giorgio Chiellini has given his thoughts on the Azzurri goalkeeper and hinted on a potential move in the future, in a lengthy interview with DAZN.

“Right now, it’s not up to me. In a few years, if I will do something different, then yes, I will try. For now, I can’t. Buffon and Donnarumma have different characteristics, but Gigio is not an average goalkeeper.”

37-year-old Chiellini has not ruled out a future role in executive functions at the club after his contract expires in June 2023.
