Inter Risk Losing Star Defender to European Giants

Real Madrid and Chelsea are not only tussling in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League, but also the transfer market, as the two European giants aim for a Inter center-back to bolster their defensive ranks.

Along with Stefan De Vrij, Inter mainstay defender Milan Skriniar is being touted for a move away from the Giuseppe Meazza. The Slovakian ace’s Nerazzurri contract runs out in the summer of 2023, leaving Inter a very short time period to force a contract renewal, in order to avoid letting Skriniar leave for free.

The 27-year-old is the subject of interest from not only the Madrid and London natives, but also Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich, according to latest reports from Interlive.it.

Inter have not yet set him down with an extension deal, but as per reports, it would be best to offer him a ‘Barella-style renewal’ that would see him locked down until 2026 – by virtue of which Inter can demand a healthy increase in transfer fee.

The hard-headed Slovak has been instrumental to Inter’s successes on the pitch, having registered 205 appearances. He is in his fifth running campaign in the Nerazzurri shirt.
