Milan Making Gradual Progress for Chelsea Outcast Ziyech

Milan are making progress with regard to the situation surrounding Chelsea outcast Hakim Ziyech. The former Ajax winger is way behind in playing minutes under Graham Potter at Stamford Bridge and a move to Milan is a potential avenue to reboot his club career.

As per La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), most recent contacts between the Rossoneri and the Blues have brought into light the idea of a loan deal with the right to buy. However, it will largely depend on the future of Portuguese talent Rafael Leao, who is proving instrumental every passing season in the red and black colors.

Ziyech himself prefers a transfer away from Chelsea in order to revive his career, but there is one outright issue that might prove thorny. It is the question of salary, as the Moroccan earns close to €6M in London. Milan would struggle to match those figures and an agreement can only be reached if the player agrees to downsize his wage bill.

The Morocco playmaker has proved instrumental at the World Cup so far, helping Morocco finish atop the group containing Croatia and Belgium.
