Amiens Teenage Talent Ilenikhena in Inter’s Sights for Transfer

Belgium youth prodigy Zeno Debast isn’t the only youngster in Inter’s crosshairs as a transfer target, as the Nerazzurri are also on the trail of Amiens U19 centre-forward George Ilenikhena. The Nigeria-born left-footed striker has caught the attention of Inter and the club are reportedly ready to invest in him before the transfer window closes shut on Tuesday midnight.

As per French outlet Courrier picard, the Ligue 2 outfit are prepared to lose the 16-year-old talent for a tidy sum of €5M, which would add a bountiful resource in the coffers of the minnows.

Inter have five first-team strikers at the moment, but it is the future that is on the management’s mind at the moment. At only 16, should Ilenikhena join, he will directly be incorporated within Inter Primavera.

Amiens B team manager Antoine Buron believes the teenager has great ability to improve his game, given his stature as an unfinished product.

“He must make his merry way quietly. I’m happy for him because he’s a youngster we’ve worked with but he can still be improved, he still has things to work on, you shouldn’t think he’s a finished product. He is in the making, we have to keep working but we are necessarily happy for him. He is quite mature for his age,” said Buron (via Le11HDF).

Ilenikhena has 8 goals in 11 appearances for the club this season across various units – from the first and B team to the U19s level.
