Victor Osimhen is leaving everyone behind this season, as he continues to propel Napoli across all active fronts, most recently bagging an important goal against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League last 16 first leg at the Deutsche Bank Park.

The Nigerian marksman is Serie A’s top scorer, scoring 18 goals in 19 appearances – an average of one goal every 88 minutes. However, speaking to the microphones of ESPN, Osimhen focused on team targets ahead of personal goals.
“Being the top scorer is not my priority, the team comes first. If I win the title of top scorer that’s fine with me, but I will be interested in winning trophies with the team. When you do well it’s normal that the best clubs look at you, attracting their interest gives me the motivation to do more for myself and for my team.” (via TuttoNapoli)
Finally, Osimhen shed light on his future, as top clubs pile in search of his signature come summer.
“I’m only focused on Napoli, they have the last word. At the end of the year we’ll see what happens, but it’s not up to me. It is up to the club. We just want to try and win every match, but we have to work hard.”
A reminder that in late 2021, Victor Osimhen required six plates and 18 screws during the operation on his face following a clash of heads.

The Partenopei have established themselves as one of Europe’s most feared teams as they prepare to resume their Serie A journey following the 2-0 win over Frankfurt in Germany. They visit Empoli first, before taking on Lazio and Atalanta.
