La Real Starlet Kubo Eager to Complete Remontada Versus Roma

Jose Mourinho’s Roma hold a two-goal lead over Real Sociedad going into the second leg of their UEFA Europa League Round of 16 tie, but Japanese starlet Takefuso Kubo believes the Spaniards can mount a comeback.

Speaking to the press in the pre-match conference (via SportMediaset), the former Real Madrid talent backed his side to edge the Giallorossi.

“If Roma managed to score two goals, why shouldn’t we do it? In the first leg we had the opportunities without exploiting, unlike them.”

Kubo believes with the backing of the home crowd, La Real can fight back to complete a memorable comeback.

“The fans can be confident, I want to be part of the club’s history and therefore recover the first leg result so that even in 10 years we will be talking about the our feat. If it happens with my goal, so much the better. We have to enter the pitch angry, play with aggression and confidence. We can’t go wrong, we’re in good shape and we have to prove it.”

Roma have progressed from all five of their previous two-legged ties in the knockout stages o the UEFA Europa League when winning the first leg, with one of those being a 4-1 aggregate win over Villarreal in 2016/17.
