Zaniolo Close to Sealing Italy Return in Swap-Like Deal

It is no secret Nicolo Zaniolo wants to return to Italy, having moved to Galatasaray in a hasty transfer following his falling out with Roma around the winter window. The Turks themselves are not oblivious to the Massa-born forward’s intentions, who Juventus have been following ever since.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via TuttoJuve), Galatasaray like Weston McKennie and the American could be the makeweight the Bianconeri need to bring Zaniolo into the squad. Zaniolo possesses a release clause of €35M, a figure that would correspond with the price required to lure McKennie away from Turin. The USMNT midfielder spent the last season on loan at Leeds United.

Moise Kean is another name associated with a move to Galatasaray in return for Zaniolo.

Juventus are in the process of revamping the management along with the squad, with few names expected to leave, including Angel Di Maria and Federico Chiesa. And the Bianconeri do not want to be unprepared in the event any of the forwards leave.

Aston Villa, Atletico Madrid, Fiorentina, Milan, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be interested in the 23-year-old, whose Galatasaray contract expires in 2027.

The lack of Champions League football is unperturbedly affecting Juventus at the moment, and it remains to be seen how the new management navigates through the barriers at hand.
