Cristiano Ronaldo Pushing to Move to Manchester City?

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly instructed his agent Jorge Mendes to orchestrate a transfer to Manchester City. The Portuguese star is trying to leave Juventus in the final days of the window, but not many clubs can afford his salary. The Citizens are one of them, although they are focusing on acquiring Harry Kane, L’Equipe informs.

Ronaldo already reached out to his compatriots, Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias, and Joao Cancelo, to test the waters. The entourage of the player is optimistic the move could indeed happen, the French publication adds. Instead, the English club has other priorities at the moment.

Manchester City would not want to pay a fee to Juventus. However, they have a few players that interest the Bianconeri, such as Bernardo Silva and Aymeric Laporte. The former asked out following the arrival of Jack Grealish and is also represented by Mendes. The center-back might also depart, but he has a €70M evaluation. Juventus want €25/30M to part ways with Ronaldo to avoid a financial loss. A swap deal is more likely.

According to Corriere della Sera, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner told his teammates that he believes to have some chances to leave. PSG are not seriously in the running, regardless of what will happen with Kylian Mbappé, Gianluca Di Marzio informs. The operation is difficult, but the super-agent is trying to pull his weight. However, the Citizens would have to sell Raheem Sterling before making an attempt for Ronaldo. Moreover, they do not want to insert Gabriel Jesus, whom Juventus like a lot, in the package.
