Fiorentina have reportedly offered Sassuolo €15m for their star Domenico Berardi.
According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, La Viola have been interested in signing him for a while and tried in vain to rope him in during the summer transfer window.
Their present offer for Berardi is €15m but Sassuolo will reject it as they think it is not substantial. Anticipating this, Fiorentina will try to sign Lille’s Jonathan David.
Berardi, who was a part of Italy’s Euro-winning squad this summer, has been a consistent performer for Sassuolo for the past few seasons. He has started 2021/22 well, amassing six goals and four assists in 11 appearances across all competitions so far.
Berardi is at his peak now and there is a very good chance that Sassuolo will not be able to keep him for long. The 27-year-old would have been a solid addition to Fiorentina’s squad but €15m will not be enough to sign someone of his quality.
