Chelsea Join the Race to Sign Inter Target

Chelsea have reportedly joined the race for the signature of Everton left-back Lucas Digne who is wanted by Inter, among others.

According to The Athletic (via Calciomercato.com), the Frenchman is targeted by Inter and Juventus, and now the Blues are keen on his signature as well.

Digne, who is currently valued at €35m according to Transfermarkt, has been a regular for Everton since joining them. So far, the Frenchman has amassed six goald and 20 assists in 127 appearances for the club.

This season, Digne has appeared in 15 matche for the Toffees, scoring a goal in their League Cup clash against QPR.

The 28-year-old has established himself as one of the best left-backs in the Premier League over the past couple of seasons and there is every chance of him wanting to make a move to a bigger club. While joining Chelsea is an intriguing prospect, there is every chance of Digne featuring sporadically for them given that they already have Ben Chilwell.

Inter have a pretty good left-back in Federico Dimarco and the Frenchman’s addition would certainly intensify the competition. Not to forget, Simone Inzaghi can easily rotate between the two. The Nerazzurri have done some smart business in the transfer market over the years and buying Dige would certainly fall under that category.
