While it seems Dusan Vlahovic’s departure to Juventus is imminent, Fiorentina have identified a substitute for the Serbian striker and are set to close in on Basel’s marksman Arthur Cabral.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Viola have submitted an initial bid of €14M, along with a total €2M in bonuses to the Swiss giants in order to potentially reel in the 24 year-old Brazilian to the Stadio Artemio Franchi before the transfer window closes.
As it stands, Italiano is light on strikers as the transfer of the Serie A leading-goal scorer Vlahovic would only leave him with Krzystof Piatek as an option within the number nine position. Consequently, the club firmly believes that the signing Cabral is crucial before the closure of the transfer window due to the fact that the addition of a clinical finisher can increase their depth and allow them to push towards European football next season.
So far throughout this year’s campaign, the Brazilian striker has been in phenomenal form as he scored 14 goals and provided four assists in 26 appearances within the Swiss Super League.
The club is convinced that the 24 year-old is a perfect alternative for Vlahovic as they have faith that the player can play a significant role within Fiorentina’s long-term project through the use of his killer instincts in front of goal, his ability to drop deep within the lines to create link-up plays, and his marvellous technical abilities on the ball.
