Napoli have stayed in touch with the entourage of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia following last week’s meeting. He is one of the most serious candidates to replace Lorenzo Insigne. The Georgian prodigy has a relatively low salary and price tag, which fits the Azzurri’s transfer market policy.
According to Alfredo Pedullà, the Partenopei have expressed major interest and are trying to beat the competition. Kvaratskhelia has multiple suitors across Europe, but Napoli have a real shot at winning the race since they moved early. His price tag is around €15M, and he is under contract with Rubin Kazan until 2024.
His team’s sporting director Oleg Yarovinsky spoke to Sport-Express about the rumors: “We have not received any offer so far. Should they arrive, we would consider them with great pleasure. We will see what happens in the summer considering this unprecedented situation. It is clear that we will evaluate any possible bid very attentively.”
On the other hand, the Azzurri seem to have ruled out going after Domenico Berardi, Paolo Bargiggia informs. The Sassuolo star earns €2M per season and asked for a significant raise to move, which goes against the team’s strategy on wages. His evaluation is also sky-high thanks to a stellar season.
On top of Kvaratskhelia, Napoli have started eyeing Charles De Ketelaere. However, the Club Brugge’s starlet figures to be more expensive. The Partenopei might sign multiple attackers in the summer. Dries Mertens might leave as well, and a few teams inquired about Elijf Elmas and Hirving Lozano.
