Lazio Icon Beppe Signori Backs Sarri to Shine with His Ideas

Lazio icon Beppe Signori, who starred for the club between 1992 and 1998, believes the Biancocelesti are on the right path following their 2-0 win over Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo.

The diminutive ex-striker spoke exclusively to the microphones of Notizie.com (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) and shared his thoughts on Lazio’s growth under Maurizio Sarri.

“Lazio are doing very well, it seems to me that they are on the right path. I was not able to watch the Atalanta game but Sarri has ideas that can really make a difference.”

Signori thinks that rather than aiming directly for the Scudetto, the Biancocelesti should take one step at a time, and keep qualification for the UEFA Champions League as their main priority for now.

“Now Lazio don’t have to set any goals. They say so, you have to see what happens from time to time. Qualification for the Champions League anyway, it would be an important goal to reach. I don’t know, everyone has played in their era. Certainly Sarri proposes a proactive kick with his tactics.”

The capital outfit are currently third in Serie A, level on points with Atalanta, and just two off second placed Milan. However, Napoli are five points away atop the standings.
