Confident Salzburg Manager Jaissle Eager to ‘Scare’ Milan UCL Hopes

RB Salzburg manager Matthias Jaissle believes his team can ‘scare’ Milan when they visit the San Siro to play out the final UCL group matchday encounter. The Austrians sit one point behind the Rossoneri in third place, and it is safe to say that the winner of this do-or-die encounter will head into the Round of 16 alongside group leaders Chelsea.

Speaking to the press (via MilanNews) in his pre-match conference, Jaissle urged his outfit to arrive in Milan with their heads held high.

“I think you have all seen for large sections of the match (against Hartberg) the match on Wednesday was in our heads. Let’s go with our heads held high in Milan, we will give everything we have and we can: we’ll see if it will be enough or not.”

The German tactician is hopeful of a positive result but conceded that he wishes Milan to not be at their best.

“I trust in our style of play and we can scare them, even if they are a world-class team. We need an absolutely perfect evening in Milan and maybe with them not at their best.”

Salzburg arrive into the match following a hard-fought 1-0 win over relegation contenders Hartberg in the Austrian Bundesliga, whereas the Rossoneri tasted a pricky 2-1 defeat at the hands of Torino in Serie A. The two sides drew 1-1 in Salzburg on the first matchday.
