Atalanta Starlet Teases Move to Manchester United

Rasmus Hojlund, who has long been eyed by Manchester United, addressed the buzz from Denmark, where he’s practicing ahead of the upcoming international matches. The prodigy was quizzed about the Red Devils by local newspaper Berlingske (via Calciomercato).

“They are a great club. I must have done something right if they are after me. My objective is to reach the top, and they are that. I haven’t had a video call with Erik Ten Hag, though. I can’t discuss whether there have been contacts with them.”

According to Corriere della Sera, Atalanta would like to keep Hojlund, but it would be tough to turn down €60/70M offers that could arrive from Manchester United or other European behemoths. While a few Serie A sides need a striker, he’s unlikely to stay in the Peninsula considering his sky-high price tag.

Per Prima Bergamo, La Dea could rival Roma for M’Bala Nzola if they were to lose their wunderkind. The Spezia marksman will depart for a reduced valuation due to his team’s relegation. The Orobici also have Munir El Haddadi in their crosshairs, Quotidiano Nazionale relays. His contract with Getafe is up at the end of June.

Our Take on Hojlund and Manchester United

It’s a bit unfortunate, for Atalanta and the League, but things seem to be moving in this direction. Even though he has displayed major flashes of talent in his maiden season in Italy, he could use another campaign away from the spotlight to finetune his game, but all the raw tools are already in place for him to succeed anywhere.
