Sarri Compliments Giuntoli Ahead of Juventus Clash

Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri showed his appreciation for Cristiano Giuntoli ahead of Saturday’s game against Juventus. The two are long-time friends. They first crossed paths 20 years ago when the coach was helming Sansovino and the exec was playing for Sanremese in the amateurs.

As Il Messaggero reports (via Tuttomercatoweb), the gaffer endorsed the official privately.

“Unfortunately for the other teams, he’ll fix Juventus. He’ll do great things because he has important qualities and courage.”

Sarri and Giuntoli worked shoulder-to-shoulder at Napoli for three years, from 2015 to 2018. The tactician particularly liked the freedom he had.

While the manager was complimentary toward the opponents, Claudio Lotito has his eyes set on another potentially massive win after beating Napoli. He’ll hold a speech to motivate the player before the encounter.

“We have put together a competitive team that can measure up with anybody this season.”

Lazio will be in the hunt for an away win in Turin that eluded them in recent years. The Biancocelesti nipped the Old Lady one-nil through a Ciro Immobile goal back in 2018.

Our Take on Sarri and Giuntoli

The executive hasn’t had the most impactful summer, but that was to be expected since he was appointed late. He’s in for the long haul, and his work will be visible over time. The end game of the ownership isn’t totally certain, though.
