Juventus Coach Allegri Laments Lackluster Attitude After Sassuolo Mauling

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has urged his team to land back on the ground after Sassuolo gave them a harsh reliability check on Saturday. Allegri’s lofty ambitions ahead of this round came crashing down right in front of him as Alessio Dionisi’s side mauled Bianconeri 4-2 at the Mapei Stadium

Following a near-perfect four-game start to the new Serie A campaign (W3, D1), Juventus headed to Emilia-Romagna confident of consolidating their early candidacy for the Scudetto. Instead, they had to return home not just empty-handed but humiliated. It looked like they let a string of decent results carry them away.

Wojciech Szczesny and Federico Gatti have made the headlines for all the wrong reasons, as Juventus shot themselves in the foot today. Rookie mistakes committed by Allegri’s most trusted allies brought the Turin giants’ purple patch to an emphatic halt.

A day where we weren’t attacked with our heads. We played an easy game especially in the defensive phase, without perceiving the dangers. We conceded a goal on the first shot. But the perception even before that was that our heads were a little in the air,” the Juventus boss said, as relayed by Tuttomercatoweb.

A disastrous result at Sassuolo threatens to dampen the squad’s spirits, but the Juventus gaffer expects his player to react.

This is a match that must teach us – we weren’t phenomena before but we’re not rubbish now. We have to grow and we have to work to stay attached to the match for the whole 95 minutes,” Allegri concluded.
