Lotito Indicates His Recipe to Get Out of The Slump

Lazio president Claudio Lotito was mellower in front of the microphones than behind the scenes in taking stock of his club’s early struggles. The patron spoke to Corriere di Roma before the pivotal clash with Torino on Wednesday night (via Tuttomercatoweb).

“There’s no room for opinions now. Only the results do the talking, unfortunately. We need to believe in the potential of the team. The guys have to find the mechanisms that allowed us to finish second last season together. We need a U-turn to pursue our objectives.”

Lotito preached patience.

“We have played just five or six matches. It’s early. We need to improve our conditioning. Furthermore, we inserted many new players that have yet to learn the automatisms. Some of them don’t even speak the language. I’m confident because we had a poor start last season too. There’s no need for excessive drama.”

“The most important thing is for the squad to be aware of their capabilities. Self-confidence is key to achieving your goals. I trust our coach, who evaluates the performances and finds solutions. The group, and not the singles, wins. We must create a positive and constructive atmosphere, so the players can get to know each other and improve their chemistry. We need a better team spirit.”

Lotito refers to the fact that Lazio had two wins, two draws, and one loss in the first five matchdays of 2022/2023 before prevailing in four straight games.
