Inter Already Setting Up Future Big Free Agent Signing

Inter have been very proficient in Bosman deals in recent years and are laying the groundwork for one more high-profile one in 2025 since they have laid eyes on RB Salzburg’s Luka Sucic. They don’t have a need in the role at the moment, but their front office is in lockstep about targeting him in the future, TuttoSport informs.

The Croat will turn 22 in September and will be in high demand if he doesn’t extend his contract. Oaktree has instructed the officials to prioritize the acquisition of youngsters with major upside. It has reportedly nixed the arrival of two veterans, Mario Hermoso and Ricardo Rodriguez, to plug the hole in their defense.

Instead, the whole Inter brass is aligned about pursuing Sucic. He’d replace Henrikh Mkhitaryan in their plans. The veteran is 35 and is under contract until 2026. The RB Salzburg star has similar characteristics as he can play as a no.10 too.

He has recorded 18 goals and 19 assists in 128 matches since he became a regular. He has 10 caps with Croatia to his name. Besides the risk of a renewal, the Nerazzurri will have to hope no team acquires him this summer.

Our Take on Inter and Sucic

This kind of deal needs to be prepared well in advance, but they might even be too early. Mkhitaryan is still going strong, plus they have Davide Frattesi pushing for a larger role, and they just added Piotr Zielinski. They can get younger, but they are already in excellent shape in the midfielder.
