Roma Desperate to Sign Torino Right-Back Despite Massive Price Tag

After heavily reinforcing their attack with the arrivals of Matias Soule and Artem Dovbyk, Roma are keen to add to their defensive options. According to Calciomercato, Daniele De Rossi has earmarked Torino speed demon Raoul Bellanova as a dream signing to strengthen the right-back position.

Despite Torino’s significant demands, Roma will not back off as De Rossi desperately needs to bolster his backline. With Rick Karsdorp out of the squad following a dreadful 2023/24 campaign, Zeki Celik remains the only dependable option on the right flank.

But as the Turk saw a fair share of problems last term, Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi is determined to lure Bellanova to the Stadio Olimpico. It would take around €25 million to convince Torino to sell their rising star, with the Giallorossi hopeful of getting a discount.

Roma had tried to drive the price tag by offering Nicola Zalewski as a makeweight in a deal. Zalewski’s contract in the capital runs out in 2025, so Ghisolfi hoped to kill two birds with one stone. However, his offer fell on Torino’s deaf ears, with club president Urbano Cairo seeking nothing but cash.

If Torino continue to stick to their guns, Roma will turn to other options in the market. Milan captain Davide Calabria is among the candidates to address their defensive shortcomings. Yet, the Italian defender is keen to prove his worth to the new Rossoneri manager, Paulo Fonseca, even though Emerson Royal is on the verge of landing at San Siro.
