According to Sky, the new deal will run until 2029. The Argentine will earn €9M annually. If the reports are correct, he’s the third highest-paid player in Serie A behind Dusan Vlahovic (€12M) and Victor Osimhen (€9M). The Napoli ace will likely leave this summer.
Martinez was previously tied to Inter until 2026. Without an agreement, his permanence could have potentially been in jeopardy. After some back and forth, the star instructed his agent to shake hands so he could stay put and focus on the recent international competition.
The 26-year-old is coming off his most prolific season yet. He won the Capocanniere moniker, bagging 24 goals in Serie A. He was the top scorer in the Copa America as well. He’s been at the club since 2018. He has accumulated 282 appearances in San Siro, contributing to two Scudetto, two Coppa Italia, and three Supercoppa.
