Lazio Eyeing Chelsea Youngster and More Midfielders

Lazio plot to conclude the summer with two more signings: an attacker and one more midfielder. They are in advanced talks with Salernitana to finally sign Boulaye Dia, who’s been in their crosshairs for a year. They could seal the deal for €10M plus add-ons, Calciomercato relays.

The Biancocelesti have been linked to Michael Folorunsho, whom Napoli put on sale due to an argument with Antonio Conte. He has a €12M price tag. He grew up in their academy, and their coach Marco Baroni already managed him at Reggina and Hellas Verona.

Lazio have two more familiar faces on their shortlist: Carlos Alcaraz and Cesare Casadei. The former is back at Southampton since Juventus didn’t buy him out. He’s likely to transfer again. They’d have to be quick because Flamengo tabled a €18M bid plus add-ons.

Instead, the former Inter product would like to depart to play more. He’s pushing to come back to Italy, and Chelsea won’t put up much resistance once the right offer arrives. They paid €15M to acquire him from the Nerazzurri in 2022.

Our Take on Lazio, Folorunsho, Alcaraz, and Casadei

They should target a purely inventive player since they haven’t really replaced Luis Alberto. Gaetano Castrovilli is an okay playmaker when healthy, but that’s a big gamble. The Napoli outcast is the most offensive-minded option and would be the most logical signing given his previous ties, but a negotiation between Claudio Lotito and Aurelio De Laurentiis won’t go down smoothly. Alcaraz is probably too pricey.
