Napoli have completed the acquisition of David Neres, who flew in on Monday to take the medicals and sign his new contract. Only the celebratory tweet by president Aurelio De Laurentiis is missing for the deal to be official.

The 27-year-old moved to Portugal from Shakhtar Donetsk for €15 in 2022. Ajax had brought him to Europe from Sao Paulo. He has eight caps and one goal with Brazil.
The acquisition of a new winger could lead to the departure of Cyril Ngonge. Fiorentina and Lazio have asked for him on loan. The Azzurri paid €18M to sign him from Verona last January.

It’s a solid get, but it’d look better if it weremore affordable and he didn’t play in a position where they were set and addressed all their holes first. It’s not unusual with a new director and coach, especially one that likes established players, but they haven’t been shy in undoing the transfer market moves of the previous regime. They better be right in their assessments.
