Chelsea to Continue to Keep Tabs on Napoli Loanee

Victor Osimhen got off to a fast start at Galatasaray, but his loan spell in Turkey could be even shorter than anticipated. Considering the sum requested by Napoli, a permanent switch at the end of the season is far-fetched.

Conversely, there’s a chance he will switch sides again in January, Fabrizio Romano reports (via OneFootball). He surely won’t return to Napoli or Serie A. His new €80M release clause isn’t valid for Italian teams. He’d be too expensive anyway. Milan reportedly made a late attempt, but their chances of succeeding were almost null.

Chelsea were the European team that came the closest to signing Osimhen in the summer. Their interest hasn’t waned, although there were some issues with his wages. The Nigerian striker had accepted a transfer to Saudi Arabia, which didn’t come together because the fee from Al-Ahli was too low. However, his preference is to move to the Premier League eventually.

Something may go down in the next window already. Galatasaray would receive some sort of compensation in that event. He notched an assist in his first appearance with the Cimbom.

Our Take on Osimhen

The Partenopei are in a comfortable spot for this campaign as potential winter negotiations won’t affect the squad and would be less of a bother than in the previous session. Instead, it wouldn’t be great for the Turkish side. Transfer of this caliber have better odds of taking place in the summer. PSG are still one of the most logical landing spots.
