Juventus Eye January Swoop for Unsettled Barcelona Forward

After a proactive summer transfer window, Juventus are back to the drawing board, plotting strategies for the upcoming transfer window. According to Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona winger Ferran Torres has landed on Bianconeri’s radar amid Cristiano Giuntoli’s effort to sign a dependable alternative for Dusan Vlahovic.

Torres isn’t an out-and-out striker. However, he is a versatile forward, capable of covering virtually every position alongside the frontline. Despite his versatility and undeniable technical qualities, he has never established himself as a senior star at Barcelona.

Numerous injuries to key players have handed the 24-year-old more first-team opportunities than expected this season. But once everyone is fit, Torres would likely have to find a new club. Juventus would gladly welcome him to Turin if they can negotiate a favorable deal with Barcelona.

Juventus reinforced their attacking options in the summer with the arrivals of Nicolas Gonzalez and Francisco Conceicao. While the former can operate in the middle, the Portuguese whizz-kid is a winger in its strictest sense. It leaves Thiago Motta short of reliable backup options for Vlahovic.

Arkadiusz Milik is on the sidelines with an injury. Yet, even when he comes back, it’s hard to imagine Motta relying on him heavily. Therefore, Juventus could test the waters for the former Manchester City ace in January, especially considering Barcelona would likely listen to offers for their unsettled star.

Juventus could even offer Paul Pogba in return now that the European Court of Arbitration for Sport reduced the Frenchman’s sentence.

Convincing Torres to join could be a tricky part. The EURO 2024 winner is reportedly keen to stay at Camp Nou. However, Juventus emissaries can be persuasive.
