Juric Distances Rumours, Relishes Roma Opportunity

Ivan Juric has quickly found himself on the hot seat after taking over Roma. He talked about the hiring and more to Corriere dello Sport.

“It all happened very quickly. It was a great opportunity for me after 14 years in Primavera, Serie B, and C and 8 seasons in the top flight. It’s like heaven to me. We’re trying to raise the bar with passion. I’m not contaminated by the negativity. The internal relationships are excellent, and we have a great director. I personally thrive in messy situations. I don’t feel the sense of precariousness that comes from the outside. We know the making of the environment. I’m not affected by the pressure and perceive everybody’s trust.”

Juric touched on a few players.

“It doesn’t take long to fall in love with Niccolò Pisilli. He comes from an intellectual family, and he’s a little like that since he’s calm, serene, and thoughtful. I had never seen that much talent in a player so young. Pellegrini has had six or seven chances in the last few matches, which means that he’s fit and moving well  He’s working hard and will bounce back. Paulo Dybala had a fantastic first game with us, then he had some issues. We’re trying to recover him fully and for good. We aim to avoid relapses and we’re taking our time. He’s a wonder on the pitch. We have to get him healthy consistently, not like in the last few years.”

Juric assessed the ugly loss to Elfsborg.

“I wanted to see the whole roster in action that night to assess whom we can count on. It was an unacceptable result, but we have a good foundation.”
