Inter are the latest team to set sight on Samuele Ricci ahead of a busy summer race in 2025, if no side convinces Torino to sell him in January with a large cheque. The Nerazzurri aim to bring in U-25 players, even better if Italians. He’s seen as a viable deputy for Hakan Calhanoglu in the short term and heir in the long run.
Per Calciomercato, the Granata regista has unanimous support inside the club, from the ownership to the management and the coaching staff, as he’d be ready to contribute right away.
Inter already targeted Ricci a couple of years ago, but they preferred signing Kristjan Asllani at the time. The Albanian talent hasn’t progressed as much as they hoped. They’d have to sell him to make room for another option in the same role. It wouldn’t be challenging since he had a few requests last summer already. Plus, his salary isn’t too high, which makes it possible to send him to a relatively small side.
According to TuttoSport, the Nerazzurri also have Spezia’s Nicolò Bertola and Monza’s Daniel Maldini in their crosshairs to meet the requests of their governors. They could sign the former in January and let him on loan to the Serie B side.

It’s all well and good, as he’s clearly readier for the big stage than Asllani, and they like to have an oversized midfielder to cope with the busy schedule. However, they have rarely emerged victorious when it came to lucrative bidding wars. Oaktree will have to allow big investments to credibly pull off the strategy. It’s dubious that it’ll happen.
