A Few Factors Hindering Milan Attempt for Badiashile

Benoit Badiashile was the most recent addition to the Milan shortlist for the defense following Pierre Kalulu’s major thigh injury. The Frenchman recently made his seasonal debut but had a few blunders against Newcastle United, as Chelsea lost 1-4.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Rossoneri are interested in bringing him in on loan with an option to buy. They are pursuing such a formula for any of their potential addition. They don’t plan to spend much in January.

Badiashile is under contract with Chelsea for six-and-a-half more years, which makes it hard to move on from him and doesn’t help Milan. The Blues reportedly prefer to send him to another team where he would play regularly on a simple loan.

The London outfit spent €38M to acquire the center-back from Monaco a year ago. After an encouraging start, he has spent five months on the shelf due to a groin injury.

Our Take on Milan and Badiashile

It’d be a bet on talent, as he looked like a surefire prospect in Ligue 1. A few players got lost in the shuffle after joining the Blues. The deal makes sense only if they have a clause to redeem him. Considering how much they shelled out, the counterparty would likely set a very high one. There probably isn’t enough common ground between the two sides for the deal to come together.
