Aaron Ramsey Again Takes Dig at Juventus Staff for Training Regimen

Aaron Ramsey was unavailable for the last two matches before the break. Yet, he answered to the Wales call-up and will play in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers. The midfielder criticized Juventus for the way they handle him: “The philosophy and the training methods are different here than in my club. There are many people that have been following me for years. They know how to get the best out of me and allow me to feature in a few matches in a row, as it happened in the Euro.”

Ramsey indicated what the right strategy could be to avoid the continuous injuries he suffered with the Bianconeri: “Since my performances are high-level, maybe I need some extra rest and recovery during the week. Instead, I spend a lot of time on the pitch in practice, and I struggle to keep up in games. I am enthusiastic about being part of the squad, and I hope to do my part.”

In the past seven months, Ramsey has played more with his national team (447 minutes) than with his team (378), La Gazzetta dello Sport points out. It is also an economic problem for the Old Lady as he is one of the highest-paid players in the squad. The math suggests he has earned €18k for each minute on the pitch this season. Moreover, his agents cashed in a €2.8M bonus because he stayed put. Juventus tried but came up empty-handed in their attempts to offload him last summer.
