Lazio Loanee Acerbi Backs Inter Stay, Reveals Role Models

Francesco Acerbi has experienced an impressive loan stint at Inter since joining from Lazio at the start of the season. The Italy center-back sees himself staying put at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza going forward despite his contract with the Nerazzurri expiring at the end of the season.

Speaking to DAZN (via FCInterNews) in an exclusive interview, the Inter defender commented on his future, as well as several interesting subjects, such as his role model and the most beautiful stadium he has played in.

“The hope is to stay at Inter. I don’t know anything, I don’t care about anything. Two important months await me, I’m just trying to do my best, then we’ll see what happens. I feel great at Inter, if it were up to me I would stay here without problems. But I don’t wait too long, I don’t want to rush. The management knows that.”

Acerbi shed light on his relationship with Simone Inzaghi, who was an instrumental factor in luring the stopper to Milan.

“I’m not that footballer who binds to the coach. The coach is the coach. I greet him, I respect him, and I appreciate him because he wanted me at Lazio and Inter. He must make his choices, which must be respected.”

On his role model, Acerbi revealed the two players he looked up to.

“George Weah at 7, since I was a striker when I was little. Then Alessandro Nesta came along.”

Acerbi then picked the most beautiful stadium where he played.

“San Siro.”
