Mamuka Jugeli, the agent of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, has weighed in on the rumors linking his client to PSG, keeping his foot in both shoes in his comments to the Georgian version of La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“We are in no rush to make a decision because Napoli is like a second home for him. We appreciate the attention and respect their president has had toward him. The choice about his future will be made taking into consideration the will of the player and the owner. We’ll see whether there’ll be an offer that satisfies both him and the club.”
According to RMC Sport (via Giornale Roma), PSG met with the representative of Kvaratshkelia in the last few weeks. It was an exploratory chat. At this stage, the attacker hasn’t struck a deal on personal terms with the Ligue 1 champions or with Napoli. He’s due for an extension and a pay raise. The French side could offer up to €80M, which might not be enough.
Per FootMercato (via Vesuvio Live), the Partenopei are willing to match his requests and could insert a €150M release clause in his contract.
Our Take on Kvaratskhelia and PSG
Napoli must be hoping it’s normal posturing by his agent to apply pressure during the contract talks and that there’s nothing really concrete. The fit would be very easy, and the destination would make a lot of sense, but losing him and Victor Osimhen in one fell swoop would be a devastating blow despite the humungous windfall.
