However, nobody managed to come to terms with Cagliari. The Uruguayan midfielder has a €36M release clause. The Sardinian club reportedly asked for at least €30M to sell him.
His agent has resumed pressing his team: “President Tommaso Giulini promised me and the player that he will do everything possible to arrange a move in January. Nandez wants to win a trophy and play in the Champions League. The chairman gave us his word.”
His representative Pablo Bentancur spoke to CalcioNapoli24 TV: “He was the most expensive player in the history of Cagliari. We know there has been a big crisis in football. I think he will transfer for a sum inferior to his release clause. The executive told Nandez yesterday that he would lower the price tag and let him go. Two or three teams are after him for the Winter window.”
