Agent Claims Kiwior Found it Hard to Resist Premier League Move

Sasha Baranov, the agent behind Jakub Kiwior’s move from Spezia to Arsenal, has revealed the background of the transfer saga which involved as many as three high-profile Italian clubs. The Polish prodigy was snapped by the Gunners in a €25M transfer deal that caught the footballing world by surprise.

In an exclusive talk with TV Play (via MilanNews), the FairSport executive disclosed the details behind Kiwor’s Premier League jump.

“In Italy, all the important clubs – Napoli, Milan, Juventus – except Inter, expressed their interest. Due to the current situation, Napoli did not need to change the team in January, they wanted to push until summer. Juventus knew what happened (financial mismanagement) and Milan opted to wait. Then you know what happens when the English teams arrive.”

Arsenal’s lure proved a tad more magnetic for the Polish international, who signed a five-year deal at the Emirates Stadium. He joins Brighton’s Leandro Trossard as the club’s second winter signing, and is touted to make his Premier League debut against Everton on Saturday.
