Agent Claims Napoli Want to Onboard Talented Bari Duo

Napoli are unlikely to do much in January, especially considering how well they have been faring so far and the fact that their summer plans worked to perfection. However, they might consider some forward-looking purchases, signing players for the future.

According to agent Mario Giuffredi, they won’t need to look far, as they will target a touted pair from Bari, which are also owned by Aurelio De Laurentiis. He talked to Radio Marte.

“Napoli won’t make any deal in January, but they will acquire somebody like Elia Caprile and Walid Cheddira, whom they will insert in next season’s squad.”

The former joined from Leeds United las summer and has been one of the best goalkeepers in Serie B thus far. Instead, the 24-year-old Moroccan striker leads the league in scoring, having hit the net 9 nine times in 14 appearances. He has also dished five assists and found the target five more times in three Coppa Italia games.

The agent of the center-forward Bruno Di Napoli retorted to Radio CRC (via Tuttomercatoweb).

“He was in Serie C six months ago, and he will go to the World Cup now. He won everybody over with his performances. Naturally, many teams are tracking him. It’s normal to be linked to the Azzurri given the circumstances, but he’ll have his own journey. It’s an honor, but the path for him is still long and every step needs its proper time.”

Caprile’s representative Graziano Battistini was more direct in an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“He belongs to Bari, and saying that the Partenopei will sign him in January is false. His club deserves respect. The fact that they have the same ownership doesn’t mean he’ll go there.”
