Agent Damiani on Radu: “He Will Always Be Grateful to Inter”

Following a horrific mistake against Bologna last season that literally gifted the Scudetto title to Milan with only a handful of matches to go, Ionut Radu was forced to move away from Inter. The outcast finally found a home at newly-promoted Cremonese, as he transferred on a season-long loan. His agent Oscar Damiani believes the Romanian has no bad blood with his parent club ahead of the midweek reunion, mainly because of the manner in which he left the club.

Speaking to Serie A News, Damiani shed light on his client’s stance at his new team and insisted he will always remain grateful to the Nerazzurri.

“Ionut is fine, even if the results are lacking. He will help Cremonese in the relegation struggle. He found an environment that gave him great confidence, that is following him and that loves him a lot. For heaven’s sake, without taking anything away from the past where criticism was ever present, he found a really positive home. And this helps him perform better. He hopes to have a good year and bring the team to safety.”

He also spoke of Radu’s relationship with coach Massimiliano Alvini.

“He is great, he is a fantastic coach. Even when there was that unfortunate episode in Florence, he helped and comforted him. That is something Ionut really appreciated. Even the Cremonese fans proved to be very close to him. We have received many messages of affection. And this is something really beautiful.”

Finally, Damiani guaranteed that Radu wants to get back to winning ways against Inter without any hatred and return to the Giuseppe Meazza in a year as a changed player.

“There’s no revenge or poison, on the contrary. The boy will always be grateful to the Nerazzurri, who pursued him at a very young age. He was the Italian Primavera champion. There is still a lot of respect for Inter. His only goal is to do well this year, starting with the upcoming game in San Siro. And to come back in a year after proving that he deserves to be part of their squad.”
