Italian agent Mario Giuffredi, who represents Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Matteo Politano, has backed the latter to sign with Napoli for life, following the former’s footsteps, who signed a five-year extension with the Partenopei earlier last month. He coaxed Politano to perhaps do the same.
Giuffredi spoke to Tuttomercatoweb and gave the background behind Politano.
“I have to be honest: the president asked me to talk about the renewal of Politano during the negotiations for Di Lorenzo and Mario Rui. We did, but there were no conditions to continue the discussion. He would like to stay at Napoli for life like Di Lorenzo because he feels great at the club and in the city. He’s focused on having a great year between Serie A, Champions League and the national team. When the President wants, he will always find our availability.”
The left-footed attacker is contracted to Napoli until the summer of 2025, with a further two or three-year extension perhaps in the works for the Italian. Politano has 23 goals in 149 appearances for Napoli since joining from Inter in the 2020 winter transfer window.
