Juventus Outcast Having Complicated Start at Liverpool

Arthur has played just 13 minutes since joining Liverpool from Juventus late in the summer. His precarious physical conditions delayed his integration into the squad. He recently feature with the U21 side against League Two club Rochdale to try expediting the process.

His agent Federico Pastorello stated that he expected a slow start to Calciomercato.

“He played very little last season, then he had surgery in June and missed a chunk of the pre-season preparation. He didn’t practice with the rest of the team because he wasn’t part of Massimiliano Allegri’s plans. Therefore, he needed extra work considering in what shape he was in when he joined. The gap between England and Italy is very wide on that front, so he had to catch up.”

The representative is confident Arthur will fare better at Liverpool than at Juventus.

“He has recovered fully, and he’s at his coach’s disposal now. I have no doubts he will do very well with the Reds.”

As Goal reports, the entourage strongly shot down the rumors about the loan spell being terminated early, with the player returning to Turin in January. They also defended the midfielder against those who labeled him ‘too soft.’ Still, the Premier League side activating their €35M option to buy next summer seems like a stretch.

Our Take on Arthur, Liverpool, and Juventus

If there’s somebody that can revive the career of a talented but struggling player, that’s Jurgen Klopp. The problem is that the intense pace and physicality of the Premier League don’t suit the ex-Barcelona man. All things considered, the Bianconeri did well in getting €4.5M just for the seasonal loan, even though he probably won’t get redeemed.
