Leo Ostigard has been thrust into a major role because of the injury suffered by Amir Rrahmani, but he has passed the test with flying colors and even found the target twice with two headers. His agent Luca Ariatti weighed in to Radio Punto Nuovo (via OneFootball).
“I was at the game yesterday, and it was an immense emotion. Scoring against Real Madrid in the Champions League is one of the nicest things possible for a player. His family was ecstatic. Too bad for the loss, which still hurts.”
Ariatti revealed that Ostigard had one foot out the door in the summer.
“We were approached by several clubs, but Rudi Garcia immediately relayed supreme trust in him. He communicated that from the beginning, even in his interviews. Leo was untouchable for the coach. He can have a good career here at Napoli. The pitch will do the talking. He works hard without making proclamations and is always ready.”
Ariatti spoke about his client’s mentality.
“Ostigard always plays for the team and to win. I’m sure he’s sorry for the defeat now. But these have been wonderful days for him. He hit the net against Lecce and then in the Champions League. The team resumed playing well after Real Madrid’s goal. We have to remain confident. There’s the game against Fiorentina coming up, so he has to replenish his energy.”
