Malick Thiaw has become a full-time starter for Milan in the last month or so after not getting many minutes in the first half of the season. His agent Gordon Stipic claimed that the positive turn of events had been a long time coming in an interview with Tuttomercatoweb.
“He entered the XI in a difficult moment, but it was all planned. He was prepared when he moved here. His qualities and performances gave everybody a good impression. Many are wondering whether he should have played earlier, but the strategy was clear from the beginning. We agreed to it with the coach and the management, who explained his trajectory to us.”
Thiaw picked Milan over a few other sides.
“He had many options, especially in the Premier League, and he would have been a day-one starter in some of them. But directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara impressed him during the talks. This proves his character and attitude. He picked the most difficult road. However, the project they conceived didn’t give us many doubts.”
“Discipline and mental strength are his main traits. The feedback we got from Milan has always been positive, and we were 110 percent confident even when he wasn’t starring. It’s the right path for him. He’s a calm kid, and everybody likes him. He’s a hard worker, he knows how to be part of a group, he’s well-behaved and has an extraordinary family that follows him all the time. We don’t have absurd dreams, and he knows his journey is still long, but he’s playing in Serie A and in a great reality like Milan.”
