Agent of Milan-Linked Defender Corroborates Transfer Rumors

Becir Omeragic was among the alternative targets for Milan in January, but they ended up standing pat in the back in January. His agent confirmed that they touched base with some Serie A teams recently. The defender could be on the move next summer.

The representative Francesco Di Frisco talked to Tuttomercatoweb: “Cristian Zaccardo is assisting us for the Italian market. Some other intermediaries have been talking on behalf of the player, but they do not have the authority to do that.”

Omeragic attended the Coppa Italia fixture between Milan and Genoa at San Siro in mid-January: “He has fallen in love with Italy and wanted to see things first-hand. We watched a nice game, and he liked the atmosphere at the stadium a lot.”

“We held talks with multiple clubs and even visited some headquarters. However, it is not 100 percent certain that he will leave Zurich. Winning the title and qualifying to the Champions League could affect his future.”  The Rossoneri have zeroed in on Sven Botman for the summer. However, there is plenty of competition to capture the Dutch defender.

His agent had talked up Omeragic in previous remarks to Calciomercato.it, saying that Napoli and Borussia Dortmund, on top of Milan, have inquired: “Not only he is ready for a top league, but he would be a difference-maker too. He has the quickness of Fikayo Tomori and can build from the back like Kalidou Koulibaly.” The 20-year-old has collected 79 appearances with Zurich over the last three-and-a-half campaign. He has appeared four caps with Switzerland.
