Agent of Monza Goalkeeper Welcomes Ties to Big Clubs

Michele Di Gregorio signed an extension with Monza last summer, but he’s keen on joining a top team should the opportunity present itself. He has been linked to Roma in the last couple of weeks. His agent Carlo Alberto Belloni talked to Sportitalia.

“It’s obvious that, among all possible destinations, Inter are special to him considering his ties to them. Before moving to Brianza, he spent 19 years there since he joined when he was six. It’s a unique and particular story. Unfortunately, sentiments don’t rule the transfer market. If we ever received a call from Inter, we’d surely take it.”

The Nerazzurri turned to Yann Sommer, Emil Audero, and Raffaele Di Gennaro while overhauling their goalkeeping corps last summer. The Di Gregorio representative discussed Monza.

“I only see six clubs above them. They aren’t inferior to Sassuolo, for instance. Should a big side like Juventus, Inter, or Arsenal inquire, we’d be interested. But we are focusing on the season now.”

Belloni praised the work of Giuseppe Marotta and co.

“They did a great job. For instance, they used Davide Frattesi, Marko Arnautovic, Juan Cuadrado, and Carlos Augusto off the bench against Monza. They would all start in most teams. The other title contenders are Juventus, which can focus on Serie A, Milan, Napoli, Roma, and Lazio. There are still plenty at this stage.”
