Agent of Napoli Star Lobotka Opens to Barcelona Switch

Branislav Jarusek, who represents Stanislav Lobotka, suggested his client would be happy to move to Barcelona but added that the transfer wasn’t in the works at this stage. Instead, the midfielder received a proposal from Saudi Arabia last summer (via Tuttomercatoweb).

“We met with the management to discuss an offer. They were promising a lot of money, but director Maurizio Micheli told them off and refused to negotiate. The same thing happened with Victor Osimhen. Moving to the Saudi Pro League would have changed Stani’s life economically, but he wanted to play in the Champions League.”

Jarusek revealed that Barcelona did some legwork on Lobotka.

“Should we receive a bid we can’t refuse, we’ll evaluate it with the club. He’s almost 30 and doesn’t have many years left. He’d like to play in a team that fights to win the Champions League. We spoke with Deco, and the Blaugrana would sign him, but a lot of things would need to happen first. He forwarded me a screenshot of Xavi’s recent remarks. I sent him one of all the times the coach and I spoke about him, as the boss often asks about him.”

According to Calciomercato, it’s challenging for the Blaugrana to complete any purchase given their salary cap limitations. They’d have to sell players or find new sponsorship deals to be active on the transfer market.

Our Take on Barcelona and Lobotka

He’d fit their style, but they are reasonably set in his position. Moreover, he’s one of the few players Napoli can’t really afford to lose.
