Agent Offers Star Winger to Milan

Milan could pick up where they left off in the summer and see out the signing of Porto winger Jesus Corona in the January transfer window. Per Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, the player’s agent has offered his client to the Rossoneri as part of the Mexican’s bid to leave the Primeira Liga.

Milan were heavily linked with a move for Corona in the summer, but a lack of funds saw the deal fail to go through. Porto were adamant they wouldn’t let their star leave for less than €15m while the Italians stuck to their €10m valuation of the coveted winger. As a result, the wantaway forward stayed put.

However, with just over six months left to run on his current contract at the Estadio do Dragao, Porto could be powerless to prevent Corona from departing the club in the near future. Instead of running down his contract, the former Twente man is keen to secure a high-profile transfer already in January.

Several notable European sides are in the race to sign Corona this winter, but Milan could be having the upper hand in a potential transfer tug-of-war. It seems the player himself wants to secure a move to the San Siro and has already entrusted his agent with brokering his safe passage to Lombardy.

In the meantime, Milan are on the lookout for a new wide man to increase competition for places up top following Ante Rebic’s injury-plagued first half of the season. Alexis Saelemaekers and Brahim Diaz have struggled with inconsistent performances lately, leaving deadline-day signing Junior Messias as the only reliable option at both flanks.

With the Rossoneri desperate to fashion Serie A title challenge this term, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are aiming at strengthening the squad in January. Corona can operate on both sides equally well, hence he could be a massive cup for Milan ahead of the second half of the season.
