Agent Federico Pastorello weighed in on Stefan De Vrij and the ongoing extension talks with Inter, which have ramped up in recent days, while participating in Rai’s TV program Calcio Totale.
“I don’t know if Milan Skriniar will join PSG in January, but what I can say is that Inter executives phoned me in the last few hours to accelerate the negotiation to renew the contract of my client. He wants to stay in Milan, but other teams, especially Spanish ones, have been after him for a while.”
The representative also touched on Alex Meret, who’s having a career year after a strange summer.
“He has gone through difficult moments. He was about to leave, but he reacted as champion and a great man. We are discussing a new deal with Napoli, since his present one runs out in 2024, but other sides are interested too.”
Pastorello dished on Empoli prodigy Tommaso Baldanzi, who’s already a hot commodity.
“English outfits like to buy from Serie A because price tags are still reasonable. Arsenal just signed Jakub Kiwior from Spezia, for instance. He’s on the radar of half of the Premier League clubs. It’s a market that offers Italian teams the opportunity to sell players to wealthy clubs.”
According to DAZN (via Calciomercato), Milan inquired about adding Stefan De Vrij on a Bosman move. However, Newcastle are currently leading the race as they tendered sizeable wages to bring him over on a free transfer at the end of the season.
