Agent Pimenta Backs Pogba: “We’re Working on an Appeal”

Paul Pogba has effectively been subdued out of the media’s radar in the past few weeks after failing his drug test and the subsequent appeal test, which also yielded the same result as the first. His agent Rafaela Pimenta has backed her client, saying that an appeal is being prepared in a bid to perhaps reduce the length of the midfielder’s ban.

In an exclusive to The Guardian, Pimenta revealed the work going on behind the scenes.

“We’re working on an appeal, I’m just saying that I have hope. I remain confident. But as a lawyer, I am the first to say that if something has to be discussed it has to stay there on a legal level. I can only say that I have hope.”

Pimenta backed Pogba fully, having watched him grow up as a footballer and make big money moves under the tutelage of her mentor, Mino Raiola.

“I will always be by his side. He is part of my life because he has always treated me well and with respect. I met him when he was a child, and now he is a father with three children. What I like about Paul is that every time something bad happens, he does his best to learn a lesson from it.”

Pogba returned to Juventus after a roller-coaster ride at Manchester United, but his second spell has been nothing short of a disaster due to recurring injury problems and now the doping-related ban.
