One of the late Mino Raiola’s collaborators, Rafaela Pimenta, has revealed how Lazio center-back Alessio Romagnoli chose satisfication over money, moving from reigning Italian champions Milan to the Biancocelesti in a deal that never showed signs of being directed elsewhere.
The Brazilian shadow agent picked up the award for the best transfer of the year yesterday at the Globe Soccer Awards – that of Erling Haaland to Manchester City – originally intended for Raiola. Speaking to the press (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), she took the chance to shed light on Romagnoli’s transfer to Lazio.
“Alessio Romagnoli made a choice as a fan: he could have gone to the Premier League and earned more, now he feels happy in Lazio.”
Romagnoli was the subject of lengthy talks between Milan and Lazio, but the defender had already set straight his priorities of moving back to the club he cheered as a supporter during his childhood days despite graduating from the ranks of Roma.
