Andrea Cambiaso has been utilized all over the place in his first matches under coach Thiago Motta, whom he knew beforehand given their shared time at Bologna. His agent Giovanni Bia weighed in to Tuttomercatoweb, saying the plan is for him to stay at Juventus long-term.
“I think he can be a leader of this team thanks to his quality and generosity. I still see him in Turin, maybe with the captain’s armband and many trophies under his belt, in eight or nine years.”
Bia quipped about the versatility of Cambiaso.
“I hope he won’t need to play between the sticks too, as it’d mean that the goalie has been red-carded. He keeps working hard because he aims to become world-class. He deserves all the affection he’s receiving from the club, his teammates, and the fans.”
The agent also represents Lorenzo Anghelé, who debuted with the first team in the second round.
“It was a big satisfaction for him, his family, and us, who have been following him for a long time. He had been training with the group for three weeks beforehand. We were hopeful when he got called up. He was over the over the moon. Thiago Motta is very good and makes youngsters debut with ease. They had the game in hand, so I think it was a reward for his ability and what he showed in practice.”
Cambiaso has been linked to Real Madrid in the past, but Juventus quickly proceeded to extend and bump up his contract. He’s tied to the Old Lady until 2029. He was signed from Genoa back for €13M in 2022, spending some time on loan before becoming a regular in Turin.
