The Roma fans dream of concluding the tipsy-turvy search for a new striker with the acquisition of Romelu Lukaku. But the Giallorossi can at most propose a loan. Plus, Chelsea would have to contribute heavily to his wages.
Agent Alessandro Canovi intervened on the matter to Tuttomercatoweb Radio.
“It’s a complicated deal. He’s undesired at his current club. Mauricio Pochettino made strong statements about redundant players. There are very few clubs that can afford his wages. PSG already completed major deals. They are eying something different for the center-forward position currently.”
“There aren’t many destinations left for him. Only Juventus could have the money to onboard him, but they need to sell Dusan Vlahovic first. Serie A is his ideal dimension, but he’s too expensive for everybody, except the Bianconeri. Saudi Arabia could be a way out. I don’t think it’s the El Dorado everybody imagines, though.”
On top of dishing on Lukaku, Canovi was quizzed about whether Bologna would add a new striker after the departure of Marko Arnautovic.
“They know what they need and whom to buy. They necessitate a new option, but the sale was understandable. In my opninion, they signed three new important centerpieces already. As is the case for most Italian teams, they have to raise funds before making additions.”
