Agent’s Comments Put Juventus Off About Allegri Renewal

The recent statements by the agent of Massimiliano Allegri, Giovanni Branchini, have raised suspicions about the future of the boss, who is under contract with Juventus until 2025. Their skid has given ammo to those in favor of a coaching change.

Goal’s Romeo Agresti weighed in.

“I don’t see how he could be confirmed. Branchini’s words about their ownership are serious. They are a point of no return in my mind.”

The journo commented on who could replace Allegri at Juventus.

“I think it’d be an exuberant and fresh up-and-comer. I don’t expect Antonio Conte to return. The Bianconeri are in a phase where, if they change, and I believe they will, they have to hire a manager who’s a ‘teacher’ and has a different type of football.”

Our Take on Allegri and Juventus

He’s the last relic of a different and more lavish era, also money-wise. Compared to a few weeks ago, it’d be a lot easier to pull the plug after limping to the finish line and with a big gap from first place than following a fiery duel.

If the Bianconeri want to win him, they’ll have to give him a few proven champions, but they probably don’t have the resources for that. Therefore, they’d be better off with somebody who elevates his squad’s performance through his tactics. The problem with that is that those are very few, perhaps just one since they are unlikely to look outside of Italy, and in high demand.
